Chronic pain is a real issue for many women and men. At it’s worse, it can hinder your ability to engage in activites you enjoy, cause depression, and severely limit the quality of your life. Every aspect of life can be affected - your work, your relationships, your health.
While strides have been made into understand pain…a solid understanding still remians elusive. Like our understanding of the brain…our understanding of pain is still in it’s infancy.
Recently a study was released that looked at the effect music has on pain and ones perception of pain (as well as it’s associated depressions).
Since I’ve always liked music, and music almost always affects my mood positively - I was glad to see some objective data regarding music and pain. The study basically shows that in 25% of those studied, music decreased pain and depression perception by 25%.
