Can a 90 year old marathon participant inspire you to exercise?

Here is an excellent example of healthy aging!

At an age when most people are settling into a retirement home, one Waikiki woman shows no signs of slowing down, as she prepares for her fifth Honolulu marathon.

She’s known to many in the community as the “Gladyator.” And this year, as she celebrates her 90th birthday, she hopes to prove, that age is only a number.

At 90-years-old, Glady Burrill is probably more active than most people half her age.

“I do a lot of walking. Sunday, I did 20 miles, Tuesday, I did 10 and yesterday I did 8. I keep at it, it’s part of my life and it’s not much of a change from what I normally do.”

You’ll find the full story here.

This is inspiring! My 82 year old neighbor wont be doing this, but she does play organ at the church 3 times a week and she inspires me too!

Hi!

I just finish reading about the 90 year young Gladys being so active and full of life . She most probably is a great source of inspiration to others.

Let me make some comments about my self. I am in my sixties and have had asthma just about all my life. I used to be moderately active and in my younger adult years enjoyed long walks when able.

I started to seriously exercise to improve my health and am very pleased at the results, Improvement to my over-all well being is evident as doing physical activities now, is vastly enjoyable that I found to be impossible before.

I found an very interesting site that might be useful to readers. It is livingfithealthyandhappy.com

Glady Burrill did not just turn 90.
She turned 91.

This will be her sixth Honolulu Marathon. She started fast-walking the Honolulu Marathon at age 86
